starting xine on directories differs in behaviour to single files

hello

i found that starting xine on single files with no extension
in the filename (like .ogg) works fine in all cases. however, if i
start xine on a directory with such files, it can't detect any for
playing. please harmonize the behaviour in favour to the first.
