Question about building xine-lib debian packages.

Hi.  I've always edited CONFIGURE_FLAGS in debian/rules with the build
options I want.  I build my debian packages using:
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS='noopt nostrip' debuild binary

If anyone knows if it's possible to just modify that build line to
include my CONFIGURE_FLAGS so I don't have to hand edit debian/rules
every time, could you please show me how?
