Hi, I've used xine on Gentoo for years to play DVDs. I really enjoy the program. Recently I started messing around with ripping my DVDs and then serving them around my house. Using Firefox I can click on a link, open xine and then it plays these mp4 files on all of our computers just fine. However the mode of operation seems to be to first copy the whole file into /tmp and then play it. I'd like to know if there's a way to use xine such that it would simply buffer some amount of data before it starts playing, and then either it deletes what it has already played, or else when it finishes playing the movie it cleans up /tmp by removing the file. Thanks in advance for any pointers to instructions on how to do this.
