Can Xine rip to disk?

Hi,
   Nominally I use a program called Handbrake to rip movies I might
watch on disk later. Handbrake works well, but at times it isn't able
to do the rip. Either the output is corrupted or it hits a bug and
crashes, etc.

   Interestingly every movie Handbrake hasn't be able to rip I am able
to watch in Xine which leads me to ask the question is there any mode
wherein Xine will save the movie to disk? If so help me find the right
man pages or online instructions.

   It's not important to me if it's inefficient or slow. I won't have
to use it often, but it would be nice to have a backup method when
Handbrake doesn't work.
