the patch is against 1.1.3 (plus gentoo patches but iirc, the rest
doesn't touch this file).

no it wasn't, it's still baking in gentoo (if you check their bugzilla,
you'll see that it's got some history which is little wonder given its
size). also, i think xvid guys wanted gcc 2.95 support (in particular
that means splitting up asm blocks to not exceed the constraint limit)
which i'll have no time nor motivation for.
