Regarding the memory alignment

Hello,

 

I am new to this mailing list and even to the multimedia development. Can any one explain me the usage of CACHE_LINE in xvid_malloc (parameter, CACHE_LINE);

 

And why the cache_line value is 64 and why memory alignment is required.
