Prob with input file in YUV format

hi,
Although the -t option(when set to 0) is supposed to allow the input file 
to be in YUV format, for the xvid_stat command but it always shows an 
error saying " Wrong input format. I want YUV encapsulated in PGM "


Can somebdy suggest how to use the -t option correctly to give a YUV file 
as input??I had given the command as 
<xvid_stat -t 0 -i file.YUV>
