Hello, You should get a good read on grammar prior to preaching others *proper* of anything. I sometimes write in capitals for various reasons. First, it is easier to read it since all letters are the same height. Second, we write in capitals (in Subject part) when we want the mails to pass through our SPAM filters without being tagged. Third, I use capitals to emphasize. Fourth, I am FRUSTRATED with the time I spent on this issue. That is what I meant by writing 'legible' even though I left out the emphasis part since I did not want to offend anyone. But I sure did not deserve to get a public humiliation for that. You could have written me directly if it bothered you that much. You on the other hand try to teach me proper email techniques even though your post is a grammar disaster spiced with sentence fragments, dangling modifiers, comma splices, run-on sentences, faulty pronoun-antecedent agreements, incorrect punctuation marks and a zillion of others. How you managed to fit them all into two paragraphs will remain a mystery. But I wouldn't care the least since I am here for my XVID problem -- not for your grammar soup. 666 >From: apz <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [XviD-users] HOW TO CONSTRuCT XVID HEADER FROM INCOMPLETE XVIDWHENENCODER DETAILS ARE KNOWN >Date: Sat, 8 May 2004 20:28:57 -0400 (EDT) > >On Sat, 8 May 2004, Tesla 13 wrote: > > >1) Don't SHOUT at the list. > > Subject line only is in capitals to make it more legible. > >Hello dear sir > >Your statement has perplexed me, could you be so kind and explain to me >how would a subject line written using capitals becomes more legible >than written in in lowercase, only capitalized as english language dictates? >Also, if by the same logic I am allowed to ask about extension to your >rule, my followup would be weather should not the whole message be also >in capitals to gain the further legibility? > > >From my tries at grasping the concepts of proper email techniques I have >come to trust few resources such as RFC 1855.
