compiled and installed ok, but...

Hi,

This is my first posting to this list, so here goes. I just downloaded
the 1.0.3 source and got through the #make install stage. However, I'm
not so sure how to make the run-time linker know where the xvidcore
lib dir is. Also having issues with the symlink. I had a look in
/usr/local and there was only libxvidcore.a and libxvidcore.so.4.0,
with no sign of a major or minor.

Help would be appreicated!

PS. Am installing to Ubuntu (Hoary) AMD64.
