No incoming audio

I am a novice user of the Linphone app on Android.  The VOIP service I 
am using it with is provided by aa.net with a virtual UK landline 
number.  That shows as connected.

I have a recurrent/persistent problem whereby an incoming call to that 
virtual number

- rings my handset and allows me to answer
- and transmits my voice to the caller, but
- I cannot receive/hear anything at all from the calling line.

I have tested this using both a regular cell phone to call my number AND 
another VOIP service (Sipgate), with the same outcome in both cases.

It's not seemingly a local hardware problem; the phone's earpiece works 
for all other purposes, including the incoming ringtone (for all calls, 
including Linphone) and for regular calls in and out, and for media 
playback, etc.

Grateful for any insight as to what I might try to resolve this.
