Similar observation here. Android Linphone connects to a friend. Linux Linphone fails. Tail of the content from the xterm where Linphone was invoked is at https://easthope.ca/LinphoneLog.txt . Two warnings are evident. (1) "System tray not found ..." and (2) "Connection to speech-dispatcher failed". Is either significant? Thanks, ...
