As usual, I shoot myself in the foot.

This is a PBX scenario, so in the branch route $rU is forcefully set to
the original destination number as this is what the PBX needs to know
the addressed phone number.

So, now I just need to figure out if I am in the branch route where I
do not want to replace $rU.
