Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for January 27 is now online at:
http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20030127.html
Summary:
Visual interfaces are inherently superior to auditory interfaces for many
tasks. The Star Trek fantasy of speaking to your computer is not the most
fruitful path to usable systems.

Usability Week 2003
> New York City, March 17-21
> London, March 24-28
> San Francisco, May 12-16
Full program for San Francisco now online.
Introducing a completely new type of event:
> 3-day intensive camp on the practice of usability
> http://www.nngroup.com/events/uw2003/tutorial_11.html
People often ask for more in-depth material. Here it is. The camp has all
the info you need to get going doing usability in your own project.
We are not calling this a boot camp because we are not going to have you
eat bugs - too many great restaurants in San Francisco. The "drill
instructors" have a combined 40 years of professional usability experience
and it's going to be the ultimate, concentrated usability experience.
