Knowledge management progressed from cliche to reality, based on simpler and thus more-used features. Mobile intranets doubled. In recruiting for this study people often say, "I don't know if our site *is* a portal," so we offer this definition to help you decide: An intranet "portal" is defined not merely by the technology platform that makes it run. When you get beyond the buzzword, a portal supports an organization and its employees by aggregating and organizing all the information and applications that users want and need to function effectively in their jobs. To participate in the report, organizations do not have to have a state of the art portal already. Often the best learning comes from companies at different points along the continuum and we are interesting in speaking with folks who are at those different points to hear about their experiences. We can quote you by name (a great PR opportunity, since this report will be read widely), or we can keep your quotes anonymous, which is still a great way to contribute to the community and help other companies learn from your experiences (good or bad - in fact lessons-learned from failed projects are often the most valuable).
