Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for December 6 is now online at: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20041206.html Summary: Studies of how people react to online advertisements have identified several design techniques that impact the user experience very negatively. ------------ Announcing Usability Week 2005 > New York City, April 18-23 > Stockholm, Sweden, May 9-13 > London, U.K., May 16-21 > San Francisco, June 20-25 In-depth training: > 3-day Intensive Camp: Usability in Practice > 2-day Immersion: Tog on Interaction Design With a single curriculum covering multiple days, each element in a seminar can build on previous ones. Tighter integration allows us to present information that would have required four days of stand-alone tutorials for the 3-day camp and about 2.5 days for Tog's 2-day immersion. Multiple days require a bigger commitment than a single day, but based on the experience from past camps, it's worth it. The 2005 camps are even better since they are updated based on several rounds of feedback from the 850 people who participated in earlier camps. Intranet Usability gets a 3-day track, but because 1,271 intranet professionals have already been to the first day, the material is split into three separate 1-day seminars, so that you can go straight to Day 2 if needed. > Intranet Usability 1: the basics that everybody should know > Intranet Usability 2: all new research from testing new intranets > Intranet Case Studies: learn from the world's best intranet teams 1-day tutorials: > Fundamental Guidelines for Web Usability > Presenting Company Information on Corporate Websites > E-Mail Newsletter Usability More info and full program: http://www.nngroup.com/events
