Announcing new plenary session:

I have added an evening event about the new "results-oriented user
interface" paradigm that will be introduced with the next version of
Microsoft Office (codenamed Office 12). Users often say that they expect
other UIs to work like Office. Soon, this will mean something completely
different than what it used to mean.

The new UI paradigm is the first fundamentally new way of controlling
applications in the last 25 years. Menus and toolbars are gone, and dialog
boxes and other ways of representing individual commands and features are
downplayed. Instead, the UI represents multiple operations as one,
focusing on the end-result desired by the user.

If you are already registered for the conference, you need not do
anything, since this evening plenary is open to all conference attendees.
