Confirmed this behaviour Amaya 11.1(Jan 30 2009)  MacOS 10.5.7
It is not even necessary to Save.
With Source and Page view both open, make the change in Source view,
eg, insert a return character after the <body> tag as if to
enter a new first line. This should not change the last character
of the following line.

Click in Page view:
the last character changes to $ in both Source and Page.
