I have two problems with the Ubuntu binary.
1. The 11.3 binary is not seen by my system (Ubuntu 9.10) as different 
from 11.3-pre-something. I was told that the program was already 
installed. I choose to install again.
2. While the 11.3-pre did work, the new 11.3 does not work at all. It 
just won't start. Nothing happens. If I prepare a terminal with the 
command ps -aux, and if I do very fast after starting Amaya, I can 
indeed see a process /usr/lib/Amaya/wx/bin/am… The next second, if I 
repeat ps -aux, the process is gone.
It is not a corrupted download. I made a new download and checked the 
md5. OK. New install. Just the same: the process aborts in a second.
