The content is indeed xhtml but an EPUB file is a package. There is the xhtml content + metadata + structural information (table of contents, etc.). There you are: you made your own EPUB with Amaya. Producing not only the content but packaging it automatically into EPUB format, is something more specialised, that Amaya does not do at present, as far as I now. You could consider using Amaya to write the content and some other software for the packaging.
