IANAL, but according to W3C, their software licences are compatible
with GPL. I think you could fork Amaya, as long as you didn't continue
to "market" it under that name:

However, I'm sceptical of the feasibility/desirability of maintaining
a web engine just for an editor rather than reusing one of the
mainstream web engines.

PS The cool kids these days are using GitHub not SourceForge.
