Finding other like minded bloggers

Yes, I am a complete noob to this whole blogging thing.  I apologise to 
begin with for my absolute lack of knowledge in this field and hold my 
hands up to being an idiot :)  But besides my inability to keep up with the 
vast growing interface of the web, i do have a question.  Is there a way 
where a blogger can search for like minded bloggers to follow?  It seems 
that the only blogs that I can find on here, are the ones I create myself.  
And searching through the entire internet for another writer/author or even 
publisher to follow is an arduous task.  Is there a way of listing bloggers 
into groups of interest ie, literary, art, engineering etc etc?  It would 
make sense really, after all, bloggers write to be read.
