Anyone know if there's a workaround for in-page linking?

I'm looking to start using my blog more, now that I'm more consistently 
making content to blog. I'm currently writing an update post for the blog, 
with different sections. Unfortunately, Blogger's HTML editor makes some 
very odd formatting choices on its own. Like the fact that I can't seem to 
create internal links.

I created a very basic in-page nav for linking to segments of the page. No 
JS, and no CSS, just links. Unfortunately, when I created links around the 
headers, and linked to those headers with the nav, it automatically made 
all links into external URLs, and even when I took the time to go into the 
HTML editor and change it back by hand, it re-did this change as soon as I 
switched back to the text editor. It also made the headers invisible when I 
added the names for my links.

Anyone with more experience, either with coding and/or with Blogger's 
editor itself, do you know of any workarounds for this issue? Or is it just 
not going to happen at all?
