Unable to Move Gadget to Sidebar

I haven't posted in a long while. I just added a gadget to my post and it went to the Footer--I can't get it to move to the sidebar. I was in the middle of posting this and lost the post. OS is Windows 10, browser is Firefox and my blog: iweararedhat@blogspot. Will you need a copy of code?
