Sort searched items automatically & change text color

Is there a way to sort searched posts automatically by date? When i search 
a post on my blog, the results appear completely random. I want people to 
see the newest without having to do anything. 

Also, is there a way to change the color of this text "Showing posts sorted 
by relevance for query SEARCH TERM. Sort by date Show all posts"?
