Sudden problem with the background and lay-out

Hello everyone,

All of a sudden, from one day to the next, my weblog apparently has de 
positioning of de background and footer altered. I have no explanation 
whatsoever. I used the Contempo template and customised it months ago.

I had the background centered, filling the screen, and moving while 
scrolling. Now, however, the same image is fixed and therefore repeated. 
What is even worse, is the fact that longer posts continue where visually 
(i.e. lay-out) it should stop. Or the other way around, to be precise: the 
lay-out stops where it should continue, whereas the actual post ends in 
'mid air'. Is there an explanation for this unwelcome surprise? How can I 
fix it? 

It seems it cannot be solved through 'theme designer', which would be the 
easy way, but in html. For Contempo I needed html anyway in order to use my 
background, but like I said, this was months ago. Also, I do not know much 
about these things at all, so bear with me.
