widget is not appearing on my homepage

Hi,

 im trying to add a widget with an html code.
I followed the procedure:layouts, pasting the code and saving.....finally 
there was no display on the home page.
After i entered conditionnal tag  in edit html:

        <b:widget cond='data:view.isHomepage' id='HTML2' locked='false' 
title='chitika' type='HTML' version='2' visible='true'>
in the theme mode we see the display but in the home page we do not see it.
