In Answer to people questioning the product. 'I happen to like using Webtes=
t and find it truly disappointing that the product has slipped into the sta=
te is has'... and 'disappointment'.

My experience:
I've recently tried the product again: made sure to have no trace of old pr=
oduct, reinstalled it, etc. And tried to run the demo following the instruc=
tions juts to gather frustration as it does not work. The product slip some=
where Several time I've tried to get help. No response. In comparison with =
other tools (open source). For some, I did encounter issues but the documen=
tation on line was accurate, wikies and blogs were there with fast response=
. For me this product seems dead! It's living because of some people are st=
ill using it and some of you are trying to help like Dwayne did for me in t=
he past.=20

Maybe if that is not the case, that the product is still alive, maybe we ar=
e using the wrong channel? Contributors should manifest themselves and say =
where we could get some answers.

When you read this: http://www.openqa.org/ I've stumbled upon this page thr=
ough Selenium page. You have a symbol down the page lower right corner Open=
QA.=20
You will see that some open source projects might be dead: but most of us d=
on't know necessarily if they did no post it online.
Here one in the list Pylot: http://pylot.org/
Not mention on the page the he is dead. Looking at it it seems like no.=20
Best bet it to write to them to know is it dead or not. A step we often do=
n't do and get deceived.

It's quite the same for me. I'm still using Webtest. I think, it's a very g=
=3D ood tool. So far I could cover all I wanted with it. Ease of use, repor=
ting=3D , possibilities to structure the tests and reusing packages, all th=

So, I don't like to see it just fade away like that. Still I'm thinking abo=
=3D ut moving over to another tool as there is no activity or progress anym=

I happen to like using Webtest and find it truly disappointing that the pro=
=3D duct has slipped into the state is has. I wonder if the sponsors would=
be =3D willing to donate it or host it elsewhere... or if that would even =
help. I=3D t is difficult for me to gauge the level of interest or use in =
the product =3D via this mailing list. It was once much more active and le=
ads me to believ=3D e that most have moved to another tool. I work with a =
test team that are n=3D ot developers, and the ability to write test script=
s using Ant XML is much =3D easier for them to grasp than writing Java code=
.

I was able to get a version of Webtest running on htmlunit 2.12. But the c=
=3D hanges in 2.14 and dependencies are a little more daunting and I have n=
ot h=3D ad the time required to get a good feel for how all of the pieces w=
ork toge=3D ther so that I can make updates.

Hi all,

Webtest uses htmlunit 2.10.
What are the chances that webtest will be updated to use htmlunit 2.14 or w=
e should migrate to other tools for automated testing of web applicatio=3D =
