Cross-post: Testing a URL over a VPN connection

I have a variety of tools that test the accessibility of a site based
on a URL. However, I am accessing a client's site over VPN that
requires log in to get to the URL - a Web-based application.
Any ideas for how I can get the test tool past the log in? Will
collate and summarize if I get multiple answers. Reply directly to me.
