Re: FW: Multiple ways of accessing content

Greetings all,

     I am in agreement in that having multiple ways of accessing the same
content (within reason) can be valuable.  I'm currently working on a web
application and we are discussing multiple paths of navigation.  Our dilema
is this...

     If there are multiple paths to access the same content within a web
application, should the url to the content be the same for all paths, or
should there be differing urls depending on the path the user took to get to
the content?

     Is it okay to have
        http://website.com/parenting/articles/8
     and
        http://website.com/schools/pta/articles/8
     pull the same piece of content, but with a slightly different display
of navigation?

     How does this impact Search Engine Optimization?
     How might this affect Social Bookmark Rankings?
     WWJD?  (What Would Jacob Nielson Do?)
