Yes. And even a good idea.
It's important to keep the user in the context in which *they* found
the content. This means that if breadcrumbing is being done, the
breadcrumbing should reflect the actual path the user took to the
content as closely as possible.
The same basic rule should apply to navigation.
If you're going to change the user's 'context' it should be made
obvious prior to the user following a link.
