Our university dealt with this issue with respect to our course managment system. One problem we had was that students would do some sort of external online research (e.g. looking up info for an open book quiz), but then come back and be timed out during a quiz or discussion board posting. I believe we settled for about 120 min of inactivity as the trigger with multiple pop-up warnings starting at about 5 minutes ahead of logout. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Elizabeth J.
