Axure is a very comprehensive tool.
The trouble is that it locks you into its own formats;
it writes complete spaghetti code;
if you try to edit your HTML prototype in another WYSIWYG editor you'll
despair,
and editing our HTML by hand is equally a pain as the HTML is utterly
unformatted.

Which means, you can only edit your AXURE proto in Axure.
All of a sudden the whole thing isn't really much of a bargain,
as you need to roll it out to several workstations at the price of $589
a pop.

Subject: Re: Axure RP - Wireframe, Prototype, and Specification App

Hi Jaclyn,

I have been using Axure for about 6 months. I like it. I was able to
create
working prototypes from my wireframes. It was easy to learn and they
have a
few tutorial videos on the website. I think you can download a demo
version
of the product. The only thing that is kind of a pain is the spec
generation. If you have an extensive prototype, you will end up with a
long
(mine is in excess of 400 pages) and not very usable spec.

The program allows you to create re-usable widgets, image maps, menus,
and
all kinds of other objects.

I think it is a very cool program and compared to other similar
software, it
is a real bargain.
