Hi, James, Thanks for validating exactly what I was thinking (but was too chicken to express first <g>): An heuristic evaluation (as I know it) includes heuristics for usability / accessibility, regardless of the technology or widgets in use. While there may be best practices for employing Web 2.0 (whatever that is) or other techniques, they are in SUPPORT of the heuristics, or defined best practices of a particular situation. That said, and without getting derailed into serious philosophical discussions that don't help Kim, I don't know of any Web 2.0 "best practices" to support usable and accessible systems that have been published, though I'm sure there are some. I know that there are concerns about accessibility with AJAX, which is considered a "Web 2.0" technique / technology. Heuristics are platform-agnostic, if you look at heuristic evaluation in its purest sense. I look forward to other postings on the subject, though, as the technology evolves and we are expected to provide more dynamic and robust experiences.
