I would double Forrest, you should consider whether the website is used as an application or 
a classic content-oriented site, it all depends on that.

In a content-orinted site, letting the visited links to be the same color as the text is not a 
good idea in my opinion since it should be clear that it was the _link_ you used before.

An other issue for consideration can be the color of the vlinks on your site. For example, if 
you create a website for advertisements, users will most probable seeking for details of the 
advertisement they had already scanned through in the first visit, so it might be a good 
decision to emphasize the visited links with their colors. However, if you create websites 
for TODO lists, user might be interested in the never-visited-TODO-items thus it might be 
reasonable keeping the non-visited links' colors in contrast.
