Hello David and Jon:
The paper Jon cites does look interesting. I might also point out a
completely different kind of resource, albeit not a scholarly one.
The Boston CyberArts Festival. This is a week long festival of the
arts which concerns itself with presenting artist's work in the 
cyber domain, a very large portion of which is interactive based.
One can often find innovations in thinking about any medium in
the arts, and the CyberArts festival is a good example of this.
As it so happens, there is an entire exhibit dedicate to the concept
of "Loops".

Here is the link, and for what its worth, the festival is actually
going on right now, I believe it starts today or tomorrow:
