Expert invitation from the Internet Project of Pew Research

Our apologies for cross-posts... Members of this list are invited to partic=
ipate in a special project to gather input on the challenges and opportunit=
ies for the future of humanity and the Internet. The study is being conduct=
ed by two non-profits: Pew Research Center's Internet Project and Elon Univ=
ersity's Imagining the Internet Center. We are collecting experts' input on=
the most likely evolution of technology and people's uses of it by the yea=
r 2025. Experts such as Semantic Web scientist James Hendler, Internet prot=
ocol co-inventor Vint Cerf, futurist David Brin, Esther Dyson, danah boyd a=
nd Jeff Jarvis are among those who are participating.

If you have not already participated in the survey, please use a laptop, de=
sktop or tablet computer and click on the link below and enter the password=

We hope you will take the time to share your insights now, so you do not fo=
rget, however, the site will be open until early January and you are allowe=
d start and stop, thinking your answers through and participating over time=
. Past participants have told us that taking the time to think the question=
s we present to them through has helped them see a clearer path to future a=
ction in their own realm.

By default, all of your responses are confidential. However, we provide res=
pondents the opportunity to take credit for their remarks by simply typing =
their name at the beginning of each response. Taking credit lends credibili=
ty to the results and contributes to a more vibrant public conversation. Ag=
ain, to have your remarks attributed to you, please type your name at the b=
eginning of each open-ended response you provide. If your name does not app=
ear at the beginning of a response, it will remain anonymous.

If you know other thought leaders who would contribute meaningful insights =
on the questions posed in this survey, if you send us their contact details=
we will invite them to participate.

The Pew Internet Project and Elon University will issue a series of reports=
based on this survey in 2014. Your answers, attributed or anonymous, will =
also be added to Imagining the Internet http://www.elon.edu/e-web/imagining=
/default.xhtml. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Thank you!
