It rarely works to think that far ahead, because when that future comes it is
still different in ways we can't anticipate today so it won't work like that
anyway.
"--proxy-protocol http1,http2" could work, but may look like it offers a
http2-only mode as well if you leave out "http1" from there - which we have no
plans for right now.
