I suspect those cases don't actually exist. I mean, so much networking these 
days is done using TLS that I doubt there are still users using curl 
completely without TLS support.

Also, with the exception of Gskit the other TLS libs we have dropped and the 
coming two that we plan to drop this summer are not the only available TLS 
options on any platform.

I don't know what the people who formerly used curl+gskit do. I presume some 
of them keep using an old curl or maybe they can use another TLS lib on their 
platforms now? I doubt they build curl without TLS.
