Well, do you know what the plan is for the LibreOffice developers to get this working for TLS 1.3? Otherwise the http download will fail eventual when servers drop using TLS 1.2. They have still some time to move over to using OpenSSL or one of the other variants. And of course they could ask the CURL project to delay removal if needed.
