Setting Up cURL

I am new to php and very new to cURL.  I have read through the documentation
and have reviewed several on-line tutorials, but I am still confused about
how to use cURL for my needs.

In short:
I have a supplier that specifies 'stock-check' requests be set up in a
specific format.

Is this the appropriate manner in which to ask for help?
