I am on Linux and I am not getting error for SSL validation even without providing a .pem file, so it was using server default CA bundle? As I will not know if my user is on *nix or Win or OS X, is it always recommended to provide a .pem file for sure in order to not be worried what their server OS is or whether their cURL is compiled with OpenSSL or not?
