The last time I brought up 1.5 was in http://lists.auriga.wearlab.de/pipermail/dillo-dev/2011-May/008286.html and no one replied. I'm not aware of a reason why we can't rip out all of this libpng version stuff and make life better, but admittedly I'm not a libpng specialist.
