It's rather "on newer systems" than "on others". And "most systems"
is rather "on older systems".

Which release of Debian? Because for Debian Unstable, this is no more
the case: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=713557

It's possible that Ubuntu already uses the same toolchain in 13.04
which in Debian only was available in the Experimental branch until
recently[1].
