Dear users, I answer to myself as I think it can help other people too. I found a font that renders well both chinese characters and french characters like à, é or è. It is called wenquanyi-microhei and can be downloaded on http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/wqy/wqy-microhei. After the installation is complete, change the values of font_serif and font_sans_serif in your ~/.dillo/dillorc: font_serif="文泉驛微米黑" font_sans_serif="文泉驛微米黑" Save, then start a new instance of dillo.
