http://www.w3.org/2006/webapi/admin/charter Just when you thought w3c had lost the plot... You can't have browsers complying to 'open standards' and APIs unless these issues are brought back on track as the core activity of the w3c. Some of these are long overdue.. Most of these are essential if we are going to get anything near to writing browser DOM scripts. "The DOM Level 3 Events specification (in coordination with a future DOM IG/WG). Currently a W3C Note, the DOM Level 3 Events specification is an essential piece of the W3C's Web application framework. This specification will be returned to the active Recommendation track, with required enhancements for modern web clients (such as mobile devices). " "The DOM Level 3 XPath specification (in coordination with the DOM IG/WG). Currently a W3C Note, the DOM Level 3 XPath specification is a useful component in the W3C's Web application framework. This specification will be returned to the active Recommendation track with any required modifications. " Why was work on these stopped in the first place. Probably because IE was a dead browser with a frozen DOM 1-2 implementation Why bring them back from the dead.. Probably because of AJAX popularity. Take care Grant ------------------------ Yahoo!
