I love this forum. It never fails to suprise me. Post a question and bang you receive answers and really good ones :) Thanks Guys :) @James Childers - As Ryan has pointed out onLoad doesn't fire until all of the content (including external content like style sheets, iframes, etc) has been downloaded. So, your claim is incorrect. @Schwartz Stan - I didn't understand what you were trying to say :) @Ryan Hicks - Thank you for your suggestions. Everything makes sense (and at least this way I would roughly get an idea of the page load time). Or at least when the page is usable by the user. Just one thing - what do you mean by "all content is download and initialized"? Download is fine but could you please elaborate on initialized? @Chris - Thanks for all the support Chris and also some more insight into how I could make this better. Basically, most of my userbase is on dial up. So, every single kilobyte makes a difference. My task is to cut on the page size (and increase download speed - at least speed the usable page download time). For doing tests I need to know how much time the original page took and then once I start cutting down on the code, I need to check with the earlier time. So, I was trying to come up with something that would give me an idea of how good / bad job I have done :) Thank you, Mandy.
