Just FYI - I did have to struggle a bit with Firefox.
 
When I tried using 2 divs (with display:block Vs display:none), they worked fine in IE but not in Firefox.
 
I could not figure this out for some time but then later, after some experiments figured out that Firefox seeems to like style.visibility better than display:.
