Subject: [wdf-dom] CF Applet/Object Replace

Hello all,
First of all, yes, this is a Javascript question. Just hear me out! We have
an older ColdFusion system running one of our sites. (We are moving the DB
to the Django framework and the content management to Drupal.) However,
until this migration is complete, we are stuck with one thing in particular
for updating a few small DBs, an antiquated ColdFusion Java applet
technology. These one-page management applets use the deprecated <applet>
tags to load in the applets. We used to have a Win 95 machine with a version
of IE on it that could render the applet tags. However, I wanted to know if
one could remove the applet through the DOM and re-append it as an <object>
tag. I have tried this and have been able to remove (of course) the applets,
but don't know how to re-append. I have the classid for the CF Java applets,
but for some reason cannot get it load. Has anyone had any experience with
object/param tag attributes, etc. in this regard or can point me to an
online resource on this? It is an older version of CF (I think v. 4/4.5?).
Any help much to be appreciated. BTW please do not become perturbed with me
if this is off-topic, but since my method has to be client-side I thought
this would not be a bother.
