Hi all, Thanks for your replies.

But why do a for..in on a Number?

I was just testing scopes of the variables in JS.
This was just something ridiculous and so asked why?
BTW, I'm not in search of how to make for-in loop work, but in search of wh=
at is the "toColorPart" string which i got while testing them in firebug1.5=
.3 installed in FF3.8.

Are you using Prototype? Prototype add properties to Number objects
(http://www.prototypejs.org/api/number). Since for in loops through
all the properties of an object, it will go through each of those
methods, including toColorPart.

By the way, I don't think your use of the for in loop is appropriate
here. For in is for looping through objects:

var obj =3D new Object();
obj.prop1 =3D 'a';
obj.prop2 =3D 'b';
for (var x in obj) {
alert(x); // "prop1", "prop2"
alert(obj[x] ); // "a", "b"
}

Are you looking for the plain for loop: for (var x =3D 3; x < 20; x++) { ..=
. }
