can't say for everyone else but I write to xhtml were I can. The other 
standards are dead. The only problem is that allot more things are done with 
css for xhtml. This I can do just great but IE breaks most correct css or 
makes it look trashy. I wish they would fix that browser. So the compermise 
comes in making it look good in all browsers but something like <br /> is  
non issue as it works in any new browser for the last 2 or 3 years.
